Good Karma, Positive Energy

Dinah Mirson is continuing her “Artist in Residence” at the Hyatt in Delray Beach, FL. Both Dinah and her four-legged muse, Fernando, the Instagram-famous pup, have been hard at work providing art therapy for animal lovers that stay at the Hyatt’s pet friendly hotels. Dinah was selected for our very first blog post because… well…., she’s exactly what we need right now!! Good karma, and positive energy as we get our new website off to a great roaring start.

Thank you Dinah for contributing to our Blog!

I'm Dinah Mirson. I am a self-taught mid-century artist. As a youngster, my artwork won local acclaim. Originally from New Jersey and from a family of journalists/writers, educators, and creative types, I studied English and Art History with a minor in Studio Art at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. After a business career including character licensing and design oversight at United Media Enterprises/Scripps in New York City, and more recently, as a finance/banking professional in Palm Beach, I now create art and visual social media engagement full-time.

Fernando: Uncensored. Fernando loves to be the center of attention. Here he is hosting a talk show and interviewing himself. He just told a funny joke and making sure you are enjoying his sense of humor. SMILE!

Life is good. Fernando makes it better. A snuggle, a cuddle, patience, grace, and lots of tippity tappity nails on the floors. Fernando provides infinite wisdom and a soft pillow to rest on. He thinks he is a unicorn or a princess or a knight in shining armor. He has a great imagination.

My art is different. It is bright and happy and makes you feel good. It is feel-good art with a feel-good attitude and creates feel-good energy. I like to say with Fernando, the SPARKLE FACTOR has arrived.

A Night at the Opera: While Fernando prepares for an evening of culture, he embraces his Russian heritage. Swan Lake? The Bolshoi? He is mesmerized by his own beautiful reflection in the mirror. Don’t blink!

I focus my visual media on creating positive energy and fun, using bright colors and focusing predominantly on animals.  My purpose is to LIFT up the soul, and create warmth and comfort.

My style is my own, though I'm inspired by well-loved, modern art and social culture masters including Peter Max, Keith Haring, Jackson Pollock, Romeo Britto, and Charles M. Schulz. Additionally, I was fortunate to work in character licensing back when it was just starting out. Think Peanuts, Garfield, MARVEL, and Cabbage Patch Kids.

These days, I enjoy painting dogs. I've honed my craft by using my own dog, FERNANDO, as my primary subject. I've been an animal parent for most of my life. Through Fernando, I can use my creative, artistic, and literary skills to positively impact lives and improve well-being internationally. That is a really big deal, and that is why I am doing what I am doing.  Making one person smile is good.  Making a bunch of folks smile, and having that warmth shared often and happily is exponentially gratifying.
